United Arab Emirates operates 4 nuclear power reactors across 1 site, with 5.7 GW of gross capacity.
Operating fleet by type: PWR (4). Principal operator: Nawah Energy.
A 2009 federal law created the nuclear regulator FANR and prohibits uranium enrichment and spent fuel processing within the country. Talks on two further Barakah units (5 and 6) were reported in August 2023, but have not yet proceeded. Policy position as read on 2026-11-03: World Nuclear Association, Nuclear Power in the United Arab Emirates (page dated 2026-07-16).

Fuel supply exposure
The fuel families United Arab Emirates's operating reactors take, and the fabricators our sources document as able to make each. This is capability, not contracts: it does not say who actually supplies a given plant.
| Fuel family | Units | GW gross | Documented fabricators | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PWR (square-lattice) fuel | 4 | 5.7 | Westinghouse Electric Company, Framatome, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, China National Nuclear Corporation, ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries |
