Operating fleet by type: PHWR (3). Principal operator: Nucleoelectrica Argentina.

In March 2025 the state operator NA-SA said Argentina would build four ACR-300 small modular reactors at Atucha, with the first targeted for 2030. Work on the CAREM prototype was halted in September 2024 amid budget cuts. Policy position as read on 2026-11-03: World Nuclear Association, Nuclear Power in Argentina (page dated 2026-10-23).

Fuel supply exposure

The fuel families Argentina's operating reactors take, and the fabricators our sources document as able to make each. This is capability, not contracts: it does not say who actually supplies a given plant.
